Santiago, December 6, 2023.- In a ceremony that included the participation of the president of the SMU board of directors, Pilar Dañobeitía; the general manager of the SMU, Marcelo Gálvez; the manager of Unimarc, Jorge Sáez; and the manager of Alvi, Francisco Gaete, a new Unimarc supermarket and a new Alvi store were inaugurated, both located at Gran Avenida José Miguel Carrera 13125, commune of El Bosque.

With these openings SMU – parent company of Unimarc, Alvi, Mayorista 10 and Super 10 – completes the start of the leasing plan for 21 commercial premises in the Metropolitan Region and Valparaíso that belonged to Supermercados Montserrat, and with the particularity of inaugurating two different formats in same location; plan that is expected to be completed by 2024.

In the case of Unimarc, this is the sixth opening of the format so far this year, and 21 more new stores are projected by 2025. With this new store, Unimarc has 289 operational stores and a presence in all regions of the country. Regarding the particularities of the El Bosque store, it has a sales room of 1,289.83 square meters and a staff of 54 workers. As for Alvi, this is the second opening so far this year and with this new location the format reaches 34 stores, with operations from the Coquimbo Region to Los Lagos, with 7 new stores remaining to be opened by 2025. This store It has a sales room of 1,785 square meters, where thousands of merchants in the southern sector of Santiago will be served, offering them a mix of products suitable for them, at the best prices and with many benefits from Club Alvi.

Our goal is to open 43 new Unimarc, Super 10 and Alvi stores in Chile, and 15 MaxiAhorro stores in Peru. In the case of the Unimarc location in El Bosque there will be products from suppliers of the 100% Nuestro program, from different areas of the country, such as Millantú snacks, jams and liqueurs from Calafate Alimag, honey from Colmenares, healthy products from P&M Foods, and bars of The Imperfect Project cereal, among others. Added to the new stores announced in El Bosque was the inauguration last week of a Super 10 soft discount store in the commune of Renca, which is also part of the former Montserrat locations, and which included the participation of its mayor, Claudio Castro. This location is the first Super 10 opening so far in 2023. Among the plans is the opening of another Super 10 location in Quilicura, which will end the year with 7 locations of this new format. Meanwhile, by 2024 it is expected to complete 4 openings and 5 conversions to close the year with 16 stores.
