Unimarc opens its first store in Paine, strengthening its presence in the Santiago Metropolitan Region

Unimarc has opened its first store in the municipality of Paine, with the launch of a new supermarket in the southern area of the Santiago Metropolitan Region. This marks SMU’s fifth store opening of the year and the third under the Unimarc banner, as part of the company’s organic growth plan. The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of Paine, community representatives and company executives.

To celebrate the opening, the new store will offer exclusive promotions, prize draws, tastings and surprise giveaways over several days for customers visiting the location at 890 General Baquedano. The store features a 1,247-square-meter sales floor and 13 checkout stations, eight of which are self-checkout units.

Lionel Gubler, Head of Unimarc, said: “We are very pleased to arrive in Paine for the first time and bring our value proposition closer to families in the municipality. The new supermarket offers a broad product assortment, with a particular focus on the quality and freshness of its perishable categories, including meat, fruit and vegetables, bakery and pastry products, deli meats and cheeses, and ready-to-eat meals. It also features a distinctive range of private-label brands, including Nuestra Cocina, Tento, Amada Masa, Merkat, Fundo Río Alegre, Como en Casa, Los Peumos and Smart Clean, among many others. The store also offers products from Unimarc’s 100% Nuestro program, which celebrates local flavors by supporting small businesses from every region of Chile.

With this opening, Unimarc continues to strengthen its presence in the Santiago Metropolitan Region, expanding its coverage in municipalities experiencing residential and commercial growth and consolidating a value proposition focused on offering proximity, quality and convenience to its customers.
