Unimarc Opens New Store in Parque de Los Reyes

SMU—the parent company of Unimarc, Alvi and Super10 in Chile, and Mayorsa and Maxiahorro in Peru—has opened a total of 11 stores so far this year. This week marked the inauguration of a new Unimarc in Santiago Centro, where the chain now operates three locations, further expanding its presence in the Metropolitan Region.

The new Santiago store is located at Av. Presidente Balmaceda 2528 and spans 747 square meters. It features seven checkout lanes, four of which are self-checkout stations.

“Unimarc continues to strengthen its presence in the historic municipality of Santiago. With this third store, we are reaching our customers even more closely, while maintaining our commitment to offering the best shopping experience. In this new location, customers will find nearly 5,000 products to meet their everyday needs, including those from the 100% Nuestro program, which highlights local flavors through small businesses from different regions of the country,” said Lionel Gubler, Unimarc’s Format Manager.

“I am grateful that SMU chose to open this Unimarc store in this vibrant and growing neighborhood. Investments like this are always a great contribution and highly valued by the community,” said Mario Desbordes, Mayor of Santiago, who attended the inauguration ceremony.

This new opening is part of the company’s omnichannel growth plan. With it, the supermarket chain now operates more than 400 stores nationwide, including 63 Unimarc locations in the Metropolitan Region.
